Some Filipinos were fascinated with Koreanovelas which gives an open window to have a foretaste of their culture. Evidently, they have captured most Filipino hearts. Like ours!
There’s no better way to know them than tasting their food and it is not surprising that Korean Restaurants emerges in the Metro. In fact, there is a place in Poblacion Makati called ‘Little Korea’. (a few steps away from my flat).
‘Samgyeopsal’ is a food that is always present in all Korean Restaurants. It is a thinly sliced pork belly cooked over a grill at the diners’ table. It is served with a variety of side dishes.
How to enjoy it?
You have to layer the pork belly along with bean paste, sesame oil, onions /garlic and any side dish you want. Place everything on a lettuce leaf, wrap it, then, indulge! (have your mouth wide open! )J. (If you’re fond of watching Koreanovelas, then such instructions don’t apply).
I savored layers of flavors in my mouth, so delicious that I've tasted every side dish on the table.
If you want to try it, you can dine at Minsok Restaurant in Don Pedro St. in Makati. Their staffs were accommodating and there are varieties of Korean foods to choose from. If you’re not satisfied, you might want to try other restaurants along the avenue.
