Laguna Adventure: Majayjay Falls

December 20, 2015

Exploring Laguna and discovering its enormous tourist spots should be on your bucket list if you're a dream adventurer considering that it is one of the most easy-to-go places in Manila.

The Majayjay falls located in Brgy. Gagalot, Majayjay Laguna is one of those. Its clear and cold water flows from the rich mountain of Mt. Banahaw. One thing great about this falls amongst others is its clean and maintained beauty safeguarded by its locals.

How to get there?

Getting there is a bit puzzling. But we will do our best to give you the right directions.
From Buendia, we rode a Jac Liner bus to Sta. Cruz Laguna. We head off 8:13 am and arrived 11:00 am. So, I would suggest that you leave early due to extensive travel time.
When we reached Sta. Cruz proper, we got off to Brgy. Pagsawitan. From there, we rode a tricycle going to the public market then we headed to the jeepney terminal going to Majayjay. Expect an hour drive to reach Majayjay town proper. Afterward, we had another tricycle ride going to the municipal hall of Brgy. Gagalot. When we arrived, we registered and paid the entrance fee.
Afterwards, we had a 10-15 minute walk to reach the majestic Majayjay falls.

I bet you wouldn’t regret the long grumpy ride if you will see the astounding beauty of the place!

A recent typhoon made the water flow swiftly that made us decide not to swim. On the other hand, the rain brought by the typhoon adjoined the beauty of the place that brought up a preserved rain forest feel. You will also find a hanging bridge that will lead you to the other side of the falls that will surely give you a picture perfect view.

Moreover, there are Brgy. Officials and lifeguards to look after you so you need not worry about your safety. They are also the people responsible for maintaining the area.
Locals also consider your “call of nature” as there is a residential area up the road who offers their own comfort rooms in exchange of a minimal amount. (That is if you’re not comfy of using the ones near the falls).

I will no longer spoil how beautiful the place is. All we can guarantee is an exhausting ride rewarded by satisfaction given by this breathtaking paradise.

From Majayjay back to Manila.
We had a jeepney ride going back to Majayjay town proper that led us to the jeepney terminal going to Sta. Cruz. We are lucky that we had 5:00 pm last trip going back to Majayjay town proper. We arrived at the terminal 6:00 pm, just in time for the last trip, which is 6:30 pm. A Jeepney ride from Majayjay to Sta. Cruz town proper will lead you to bus terminals going to Manila. We then arrived in Manila at around 10:00 PM.
