An Authentic Ilocano treat by Fariñas Ilocos Empanada

January 09, 2016

Ilocos is not only famous for its historical landmarks but also with their rich variety of delicacies. We’ve never been to Ilocos neither tried out any of their cuisines. But the good thing is, you don't need to travel far to try it when there is Fariñas Ilocos Empanada around the Metro!
Fariñas Ilocos Empanada is an authentic Ilocano restaurant where you'd unearth all their delicacies. Other than Empanada, they offer Bagnet, Ilocos Miki, Dinakdakan, Vigan Longanissa and more!
Due to proximity, we’ve tried the one in Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City along J.P. Rizal Ave.

How’s the Service?
Fariñas Ilocos Empanada is a self-service restaurant and unlike others, aside from the food, you’ll enjoy its serenity as this place is not too packed out.
Service Ratings: 8 out of 10 (there’s nothing to complain much about their service)

How's their food?
We’ve tried the Special Ilocos Miki, Bagnet Rice Meal and Insarabasab (Ilocano Sisig). The food is very appetizing, especially their Ilocos Miki and most of all, the remarkable Insarabasab. (I swear, I’ve never ordered that much rice until I tasted this scrumptious delicacy).
We’re so full that time and since we’ve ordered a lot, we expected that we will pay that much. But to our surprise, we only paid PHP 289.00 for TWO. Their price range is from 40 to 170 pesos only!
Food Rating: 10 out of 10
To complete your Ilocos food trip, you can also try Basi (it is an Ilocano wine that becomes vinegar when fermented).

If you want to have the same experience we had, I just want to share that there are 13 branches in Metro Manila for you to try!
